<h2>Workshop dates: January 22-24, 2004</h2>
<i>Funded by: NIMH, NICHHD, & JHU IGERT Program</i>
<p>This workshop focuses on integrative approaches to language that take two primary forms:
</p>
<ol>
<li>explanations that cut across the traditional boundaries of linguistic domains (phonetics, phonology,morphology, syntax, semantics, discourse)</li>
<br>
<li>explanations that are motivated by, and attempt to capture, data of a diversity of disciplinary perspectives, not only judgments of acceptability, but also issues in the processing, acquisition breakdown, and mental representation of language. </li>
</ol>

<p>The workshop is built around three themes, each occupying a different day:</p>
<ul>
<li>Jan 22: <a href="schedule_22.html">Agreement</a></li>
<br>
<li>Jan 23: <a href="schedule_23.html">Categoricity and Variation in Phonology</a></li>
<br>
<li>Jan 24: <a href="schedule_24.html">Explanations of Word Order</a></li>
</ul>
<p>Given the breadth of these topics, speakers for each day are asked to focus on a set of questions. These questions are enumerated on the <a href="schedule.html">main schedule page</a>. Each day's schedule as well as the abstracts are available by clicking on the link for each day.
