Theoretical Linguistics
- Morphology and Morpho-phonology: Morpho-syntax of agreement, Morpho-phonemic alternations, reduplication, irregular morphology and variation.
- Texistepec Popoluca, a Mixe-Zoquean language spoken in Veracruz, Mexico, which I am documenting under the auspices of the Project For the Documentation of the Languages of Meso-America
- Case: Non-Nominative subjects, various types of ergativity.
- Lexical semantics: Saliency hierarchies and "inverse" languages.
Linguistic Representations in the Mind/Brain
- Neurolinguistics of morphology and lexical access using magnetoencephalography MEG (at the KIT/MIT Joint Research Laboratory)
- Mental representation syntactic/morphological structure (stay tuned for results of ongoing experiment comparing stochastic-serial and parallel-distributed models of sentence processing, with Ted Gibson and Evan Chen)
- Language Development and Abnormal Language in Barbara Landau's Language and Cognition Lab.
